I realize that I'm probably the only one here that listens to this music, but this video was filmed in the Tate house. Trent Reznor lived there in the early 90's and built his "Pig" (a reference to the word that a murderer had written in Tate's blood on the front door) recording studio in it. It's also where the entire Nine Inch Nails album "The Downward Spiral" was recorded. I think he recorded some others there as well. After he moved out he said:
"While I was working on Downward Spiral, I was living in the house where Sharon Tate was killed. Then one day I met her sister. It was a random thing, just a brief encounter. And she said: 'Are you exploiting my sister's death by living in her house?' For the first time, the whole thing kind of slapped me in the face. I said, 'No, it's just sort of my own interest in American folklore. I'm in this place where a weird part of history occurred.' I guess it never really struck me before, but it did then. She lost her sister from a senseless, ignorant situation that I don't want to support. When she was talking to me, I realized for the first time, 'What if it was my sister?' I thought, 'Fuck Charlie Manson.' I went home and cried that night. It made me see there's another side to things, you know?"
He took the front door with him when he moved and installed it in his Nothing Studio. Marilyn Manson can also be seen in this video playing guitar, but he wasn't on the original recording. He was just good friends with Reznor and told him that he always wanted to record a video in the Tate house so Reznor alowed him to pretend that he played guitar just he could be in the video. Manson's first album was recorded there.

for the record Mr. Hankeys band is not recording in a building that anyone was killed in.

Captain Joseph Borrelli of the New York City Police Department was one of the key members of the Omega Group. Operation Omega was the task force headed by Deputy Inspector Timothy Dowd to find the psycho who was killing women in various parts of the city with a .44 caliber handgun.
The ".44 Caliber Killer" was getting a great deal of press and Borrelli's name had appeared frequently. Now on April 17, 1977, he was looking at a letter addressed to him that had been left at the scene of the latest in this series of murders: With misspellings, it read:
Dear Captain Joseph Borrelli,
I am deeply hurt by your calling me a wemon hater. I am not. But I am a monster. I am the 'Son of Sam.' I am a little brat.
When father Sam gets drunk he gets mean. He beats his family. Sometimes he ties me up to the back of the house. Other times he locks me in the garage. Sam loves to drink blood.
'Go out and kill,' commands father Sam.
'Behind our house some rest. Mostly young -- raped and slaughtered -- their blood drained -- just bones now.
Papa Sam keeps me locked in the attic too. I can't get out but I look out the attic window and watch the world go by.
I feel like an outsider. I am on a different wavelength then everybody else -- programmed too kill.
